There was a lot of hype when the L.A. Angels called up their top prospect Mike Trout. Trout was only 17 when he was drafted in 2009; he was a first round pick playing High School ball in New Jersey. He was named the 2nd overall prospect by Baseball America in 2010; Keith Law of ESPN had Trout #1 in his 2011 top 100 prospect list, and the MLB networks Jonathan Mayo had Trout as #1 during its airing of MLB’s Top 50 Prospects.
